PINEYWOODS PURGATORY BIKE RIDE CANCELLED

For twenty five years riders have traveled to East Texas to enjoy the scenic hills, beautiful countryside, and the hospitality of the many rest stops along the way in the Garland L. Parise Pineywoods Purgatory bike ride . After careful consideration, it has been decided to cancel this year's event.

Each year a little more than 1/3 of our riders come from places that were devastated by Hurricane Harvey - Houston, Beaumont, Corpus Christi and other south eastern Texas towns. Many of these riders have either been directly affected or have loved ones in need which prevents them from participating. In addition, there is construction going on along the course that will make a large stretch dangerous for all riders.

If you have already registered, please know that your entry fee will be refunded. If you purchased a ticket to the Bistro to be held that evening, you are welcome to still make use of it or you can call the Angelina County Chamber office for a refund. We always enjoy seeing our friends return each year and hope you will keep Lufkin in your future travel plans.
